Three MP Villages get free Wi-Fi

wifiLeading the Digital India initiative, four IT professionals from Madhya Pradesh have brought free wi-fi to the state’s three villages.

According to Shakeel Anjum, one of the youths responsible for the project,“Taking a cue from Digital India theme, we have turned Bavadikeda Jagir, Shivnathpura and Devria villages into free wi-fi hamlets to provide the fruits of IT revolution to the villagers. We have decided to do it on our own to set an example and spent nearly Rs 2 lakh from our resources to achieve the target. Its results are for everyone to see as nearly 100 mobile users are now using wi-fi facility in these villages which is running uninterrupted. We have also installed a 200 Ampere power inverter to ensure round—the—clock facility in the event of a power cut there.”

With the help of this facility, four youths of the villages could also use laptops and a Bank of India kiosk to run its affairs smoothly. Applauding the youth’s efforts, the Chief Minister of MP, Shivraj Singh Chouhan stated that the youths have set an example that others can follow. He also stated that the team of technical experts have not just shown tremendous potential but also set an example for others to follow. He also stated that his government is appreciative of the initiative and has told his officials to view the plans and take necessary decision regarding funding at the first given opportunity.
