The upcoming iPhone 15 lineup is set to provide rapid wired charging speeds of up to 35W through the use of a USB Type-C port

The current iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone Pro Max models support fast charging at speeds of up to 27W when used with Apple’s charging adapter.

The iPhone 15 series is reportedly set to launch on September 12 with various upgrades compared to the previous iPhone 14 lineup. Apple is rumored to replace the traditional Lightning port with a USB Type-C port in the rumored iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max models to comply with upcoming EU regulations. This transition to a modern port could lead to faster charging capabilities for the upcoming iPhones. A recent leak suggests that the iPhone 15 series will support fast charging speeds of up to 35W.

Unnamed industry sources mentioned in a report by 9to5Mac indicate that certain models within the iPhone 15 series will feature charging speeds of up to 35W, a notable improvement over current models. The outgoing iPhone 14 Pro supports fast charging up to 27W, while the standard iPhone 14 supports up to 20W fast charging.

Apple introduced a 35W power adapter with dual USB Type-C ports last year. If the leaked details are accurate, Apple might promote this adapter or the 30W MacBook Air charger for the upcoming iPhone 15 models. Given Apple’s strategy to differentiate between regular and Pro models, the new 35W charging speed could be exclusive to the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max.

In comparison, Samsung’s Galaxy S23 Ultra offers fast charging up to 45W, and Google’s Pixel 7 Pro supports recharging speeds of up to 23W.

Renowned industry analyst Ming-Chi Kuo previously mentioned that the iPhone 15 series would support faster charging speeds via the USB Type-C port when used with certified cables from the company. Kuo indicated that Apple would optimize the fast-charging performance of MFi (Made For iPhone) chargers for the iPhone 15 models.

The anticipated announcement date for the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max models is Tuesday, September 12. Pre-orders for the new devices are expected to start on September 22.
