The TCL-owned Alcatel One Touch brand unveiled the new Pixi 3 series of smartphones

The TCL-owned Alcatel One Touch brand, which until now had unveiled the new Pixi 3 series of smartphones and its first smartwatch at the ongoing CES 2015 event, has launched three new smartphones under its Pop 2 brand alongside a tablet – Alcatel One Touch Pop 10.

The new Alcatel One Touch Pop 2 smartphones come in screen sizes of 4-inch, 4.5-inch and 5-inch. All three smartphones are powered by the 64-bit quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor, which also offers Cat. 4 LTE connectivity with a 150Mbps downlink speed. The firm has given partial specification details for the devices. Also, the price and availability details of the devices are not known.

The Alcatel Pop 2 (5) (seen below) features a 5-inch FWVGA (480×854 pixels) TFT display, a 5-megapixel rear camera, a 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera, a 1.2GHz quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of inbuilt storage expandable via a microSD card (up to 32GB), and a 2500mAh battery. The Android 5.0 Lollipop running device measures 141×71.5×9.7mm, weighs 174 grams, and will be available in Volcano Black and White along with a combination of Black or White touch panels. The device is available in single-SIM, dual-SIM and NFC -supporting variants.

The firm has also introduced the One Touch Pop 2 (5) Premium Edition, which features 5-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) resolution display, 1.2GHz quad-core processor, 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, 2-megapixel front-facing camera, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of inbuilt storage expandable via microSD card (up to 32GB), and 2500mAh battery capacity. The smartphone is 0.8mm thin and 23 grams lighter than its regular model.

The Alcatel Pop 2 (4.5), as the name suggests, sports a 4.5-inch FWVGA (480×854 pixels) display, a 1.2GHz quad-core processor, a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, a 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera, and a 2000mAh battery. The Android 4.4 KitKat-based dual-SIM handset also includes Wi-Fi display and one finger zooming feature. The smartphone is available in Mainstream and Lifestyle colour versions. While the mainstream version offers Volcano Black, Ash Gray, Platinum Silver and White colours, the Lifestyle version features Lemon Yellow, Cozy Red, Aqua Blue, Jade Green and Lavender.

The Alcatel Pop 2 (4) sports a 4-inch WVGA (480×800 pixels) TFT display, a 5-megapxiel fixed focus rear camera with LED flash, a 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera,1GB of RAM, 4GB of inbuilt storage expandable via microSD card (up to 32GB), and a 2000mAh battery. The Android 5.0 Lollipop-powered smartphone comes equipped with same features as the Alcatel Pop 2 (4.5). The device is also available in single-SIM and dual-SIM versions and in Mainstream and Lifestyle range of colour variants. The smartphone measures 121.5×64.4×12.35 mm and weighs 125 grams.

Lastly, the 4G LTE Cat. 4-supporting tablet, the Alcatel Pop 2 (10), features a 10-inch IPS display (unknown screen resolution), is 7.9mm thin and weighs 400 grams.

The Alcatel Pop 2 (10) sports a 5-megaixel rear camera, 2-megapixel front-facing camera, and 8GB of inbuilt storage. Including the same features as the Alcatel Pop 2 (4) and Pop 2 (4.5), the tablet also acts as a laptop when attached with a keyboard dock. It is not clear if the keyboard dock comes bundled with the tablet or not.

The tablet also supports accessories including Alcatel One Touch Link device to synchronize smartphone and tablet, Alcatel One Touch Connect, FlipCovers and neoprene pouches.

Alcatel has until now launched its One Touch Pixi 3 series smartphones that can run on Android, Firefox and Windows Phone, alongside the One Touch Hero 2C budget smartphone, and the One Touch Watch.
