The Future of No-Code & AI with Abhinav Girdhar Founder & CEO- Appy Pie

No-Code & AI Innovation

IT Voice – How do you see the future of No-Code platforms evolving with the rise of Generative AI?

Abhinav Girdhar – You know, it’s really interesting to think about the future of No-Code platforms, especially with Generative AI coming into the picture. Recently, I was going through a study about the No-Code industry, and all the no-code followers will be pleased to hear that the industry is already booming. We can expect to see its no-code market share increase at around 24% CAGR bringing the tally to 68 Billion dollars. ($68.05 billion by 2030, growing at a 24.2% CAGR as perGrand View Research). But I believe we’re about to see a significant change.

With the rise of generative AI, instead of just dragging and dropping, people will be able to describe what they want, and AI will handle tasks with precision—whether it’s building apps, automating workflows, or even suggesting improvements. In fact, the generative AI market itself is projected to hit $1.3 trillion by 2032 (Bloomberg Intelligence), showing just how much AI is set to reshape digital creation.

I think this will not only speed up the process but also make software development more accessible to everyone, regardless of coding skills. According to Gartner reports by 2026, 80% of technology products will be built by non-developers, which proves that No-Code and AI are not just trends but the future of software development.

IT Voice – What industries do you think will benefit the most from No-Code and AI-powered solutions in the next five years?

Abhinav Girdhar – Almost every industry will see an impact, but some industries will benefit more than others. For example, healthcare can use AI-powered No-Code to automate patient management. Finance can simplify reporting and fraud detection. The education industry can personalize learning experiences, and e-commerce businesses can create AI-driven stores in minutes. Even traditional industries like manufacturing and logistics will use No-Code to simplify operations.

IT Voice -How does Appy Pie differentiate itself from other No-Code platforms in the market?

Abhinav Girdhar –At Appy Pie, we aim to make No-Code available to everyone. Many platforms focus on developers or big enterprises, but we truly display the spirit of No-Code by making it available to all. So, irrespective of whether you have coding skills or not, you can make the most of our platform and launch your app or website effortlessly. We always try to make our platform easy to use and packed with features. This way, anyone can use our platform without getting stuck on technical details.

Additionally, Our AI integration is also a big differentiator. Instead of just providing templates, we use AI to automate workflows, generate content, and enhance user experiences. Plus, our affordability and customer support set us apart.

IT Voice -What are the biggest challenges in integrating AI into No-Code development?

Abhinav Girdhar –The biggest challenge is making AI powerful and easy to use. Training it to deliver accurate results within a No-Code platform takes work, but it’s what makes the experience seamless. Trust is another big factor—users need to feel confident in AI-driven decisions. Plus, Security and privacy are non-negotiable, especially with the amount of data AI processes. Keeping AI adaptable is also key because technology keeps evolving. And most importantly, users need the right guidance to get the best out of it—AI should make things easier, not more complicated.

Entrepreneurship & Investment

IT Voice -As an angel investor, what key factors do you consider before investing in a startup?

Abhinav Girdhar – For me, it’s all about the problem they’re solving, the people behind it, and their ability to scale up the startup. Plus, it depends on the niche of the business and market size. A great idea is nothing without the right team to execute it. I also look at how big the opportunity is—can this startup grow beyond a niche market? And of course, timing matters. Some ideas are ahead of their time, while others are just right for the moment.

IT Voice -What advice would you give to founders looking to build AI-driven businesses?

Abhinav Girdhar – There’s no fixed rulebook for startup founders—every business comes with its unique challenges. But one thing I’ve learned is that AI isn’t a product; it’s a tool. The real value comes from using it to make things faster, more efficient, and more affordable. Also, stay flexible—not just with your ideas, but with how you work and make decisions. Technology moves fast, and what’s trending today can be outdated tomorrow. The key is to build something that can adapt and grow with time.

IT Voice –How do you balance running a company like Appy Pie while also investing in emerging tech ventures?

Abhinav Girdhar –It all comes down to having the right team, proper time management, and clear priorities. At Appy Pie, I focus on strategy and innovation while trusting my team to handle daily operations. When it comes to investing, I’m selective—I back startups where I can offer more than just money. On the other hand, staying involved in emerging tech helps me make better decisions for Appy Pie as well.

Generative AI & PhD Research

IT Voice -What is the focus of your PhD research in Generative AI?

Abhinav Girdhar –My PhD research focuses on enhancing AI as a creative partner in software development, particularly within no-code platforms. I am exploring how AI can generate more accurate code, suggest contextual improvements, and predict user needs based on intent. The goal is to bridge the gap between human creativity and AI-driven automation, making software development more accessible and efficient for users across all skill levels.

IT Voice -How do you see Generative AI reshaping traditional software development and business operations?

Abhinav Girdhar –We’re heading toward a future where AI takes care of the technical and coding tasks while people focus on ideas and execution. From what I’ve seen, businesses may not need large teams of developers for every project anymore. AI is improving quickly, and soon it will be able to create, test, and launch solutions in just a few days instead of taking months. It’s already helping businesses work better by automating complicated tasks, cutting costs, and increasing efficiency. In the coming years, AI is set to completely change how software is developed, making the process faster, cheaper, and accessible to everyone.

IT Voice -What ethical challenges do you foresee in the widespread adoption of Generative AI?

Abhinav Girdhar –Bias is a big challenge. As AI learns from data, and if that core source of information is flawed, the AI will also represent the following information in a biased and inaccurate way.

Additionally, Transparency is another challenge. Businesses need to understand how AI makes decisions, especially in sensitive areas like finance or healthcare. And of course, job displacement is a concern. AI will create new opportunities, but we also need to be aware of and train people to adapt to the changing job market skills.

Future Trends & Vision

IT Voice -What major technological shifts do you predict in No-Code and AI over the next decade?

Abhinav Girdhar –With over 10 years of experience in the no-code industry, I believe that no-code solutions will become more adequate, beneficial, and efficient. We are moving towards an era where users will simply express their needs in simple language, and AI will seamlessly execute the development process. This shift is already in progress, and we have already implemented this in our tools, and it’s only going to advance further. AI-powered automation is set to replace numerous manual tasks, substantially increasing business efficiency. Additionally, we will witness the emergence of AI assistants that do more than just respond to commands; they will proactively anticipate user needs and resolve issues in real-time and more effectively.

IT Voice -How do you envision democratizing AI for businesses that lack technical expertise?

Abhinav Girdhar –The biggest challenge with AI today is that many businesses see it as something too complex or out of reach because they don’t have a tech team. At Appy Pie, we’re changing that by making AI accessible to everyone with zero coding expertise. With no-code AI tools, any business—whether it’s a small online store, a freelancer, or a growing startup—can use AI to automate tasks, engage customers, and make smarter decisions without any technical expertise. The goal is simple: AI should work for businesses, not the other way around.

We ensure this by making our platform easy to use, with step-by-step tutorials and a dedicated support team ready to help. Every feature is designed to be intuitive so users can set up AI-driven solutions in minutes. We constantly update our platform based on real user feedback, making sure it stays simple, effective, and accessible. AI shouldn’t be intimidating—it should empower businesses, and that’s exactly what we’re doing at Appy Pie.

IT Voice -What’s next for Appy Pie? Are there any groundbreaking innovations in the pipeline?

Abhinav Girdhar –For now, we remain dedicated to our vision of continuous innovation and making no-code accessible to everyone. We are taking no-code to the next level with AI, enabling users to build entire applications simply by describing their ideas—no drag-and-drop, no coding required.

We encourage all our users to stay tuned as we are working on groundbreaking advancements in our no-code platform and AI-driven tools. We promise to deliver solutions that will make your journey even smoother and more efficient.
