Telenor Group Reports Q4 And FY2015 Results

Commenting on the results Sharad Mehrotra, CEO, Telenor (India) Communications said:

“Telenor India has established itself as the most affordable service provider in the country. The mass market approach, effective distribution and efficient operations helped the company maintain its growth trajectory in 2015. The year closed with 16% higher subscriber base than last year and a revenue growth of 9.2% over last year along with EBITDA loss narrowing by almost 90% year-on-year.

With our ambition of Internet for All, the company is aligned to the country’s mission of digital India offering products and services that enable affordable access and reach. Our first-of-its kind initiative of free life insurance to our customers on monthly incremental recharge has seen over 17 million enrollments and has enabled us to deliver full value for money keeping with our brand promise of ‘life full paisa vasool’.

Telenor’s network modernization program has also gained momentum and crossed its first milestone of 5000 sites fully modernized with advanced technology. The new network has delivered 30% higher efficiencies both on spectrum utilization and energy consumption. Telenor has deployed Lean GSM solution in 28 cities to increase coverage, reduce congestion and improve Internet speeds on its network. The company has over 26.3% of its subscribers accessing Internet, which is a jump of nearly 39% over last year.
