Taj Mahal,Hampi & Saranath Will Have Wi-Fi Facilities Soon

After Varanasi became the first public place in the state to have Wi-wifiFi zone, other tourist and pilgrimage centers are also looking forward to it. Addressing a gathering in Hyderabad via video conference from Delhi, union communications and information technology minister Ravi Shankar Prasad has confirmed on Thursday (16 April) that other famous destinations like The Taj Mahal, Hampi and Saranath will have Wi-Fi facilities soon.

Addressing Wi-Fi as an important tool for digital empowerment, Prasad announced that all the major tourist destinations in the country will soon have Wi-Fi facilities and asked the States to actively participate in its implementation. “Digital architecture is very important in delivering citizen services and for the digital empowerment of the people,” Ravi Shankar Prasad said.

BSNL in association with Quad Zen and Telangana Government is working to provide Wi-Fi around the Necklace Road in Husainsagar. People can enjoy free internet for the first few minutes and can continue their access by choosing different packages that ranges from Rs. 30 (for 30 minutes) to Rs. 150 for a day.

The pilot project was inaugurated by the minister himself. Telangana Government is working towards making Hyderabad a fully Wi-Fi enabled city and if all goes as planned, the much-anticipated project would completed by the end of the year.
