Soon, get your learner’s licence to drive in Delhi via mobile app

Soon, Delhiites would be able to apply for a learner’s license and also learn about the basics of best driving practices through a mobile application.
The Delhi government’s transport department is planning to develop a mobile application which would make it easier for beginners to acquire a learner’s license. “The mobile application would provide all the services that are present on our website and the online services we provide. At present, such online facilities are available at our regional transport offices (RTO) at Vasant Vihar and Janakpuri,” said a transport department official.
“We want that apart from providing our online services through the mobile application, it should also provide training material for beginners,” the official said. The training material might contain a question bank on the contents of a learner’s test and include information about road signs and traffic rules and regulations.
“At present, we are conceptualising the project and trying to give it a final shape. We are also deliberating on what more features can be added to the application to make it more helpful to applicants,” the official said. “Once the concept is ready, we would have to look for a developer who can create the mobile application for us,” the official said.
