Sony May Give Glimpse Of PS4 ‘Neo’ Gaming Console Next Month
Sony recently confirmed its plans to launch an upgraded PlayStation 4 gaming console. Speculated to be called PS4 Neo, the console is scheduled to launch by the end of next year. However, it looks like the company may be showing us a glimpse of the console as soon as next month.
According to a report from Vice Gaming website, Sony will be showing its 4K-capable PS4 Neo gaming console on September 7 during a “technical showcase” event. It might be possible that the company also shows the console’s capabilities and how well it can handle the graphics, but not the complete console itself.
In June, the president and group CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment Andrew House, when asked about the PS4 ‘Neo,’ said that “It is intended to sit alongside and complement the standard PS4”. He further added that the company will be selling both PS4 versions throughout its lifecycle.
xFor those who are wondering if the high-end PS4 ‘Neo’ will support the video games made for the PS4 or not, House has confirmed that, “all games will support the standard PS4 and we anticipate all or a very large majority of games will also support the high-end PS4.”
In addition, House said that ‘Neo’ is just the codename of the high-end upcoming PS4 gaming console.
Microsoft also recently confirmed the existence of its Xbox Scorpio console. The company claims that its ‘ Project Scorpio ‘ is the most powerful gaming console ever with 6 teraflops of GPU that delivers 4K gaming and hi-fi virtual reality. The ‘Project Scorpio’ will join Xbox One and the Xbox One S and will be compatible with all the other games and accessories. It recently launched the Xbox One S gaming console at E3 2016 gaming conference.
