Samsung’s next-generation foldables will be revealed at Galaxy unpacked in July

The event is scheduled to be held in Seoul, South Korea, towards the end of July.

Samsung has officially announced that its upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event will be held in late July, marking the first time in the company’s history that the event will take place in South Korea, its home country. Samsung has expressed its intention to showcase groundbreaking technologies during the event.

The specific venue for the event will be COEX in Samseong-dong, Gangnam. TM Roh, President and Head of Mobile eXperience (MX) Business at Samsung Electronics, emphasized the significance of this Unpacked event, stating:

Despite being headquartered in South Korea, Samsung has not previously held any of its major events in its home country. Historically, the company has organized events in various locations worldwide, including notable cities such as New York and San Francisco. However, Samsung has now announced a shift in its approach to Unpacked events, aiming to focus on “different trend-leading cultural cities around the globe” that align with the theme of each event.

Samsung has been a pioneer in introducing foldable smartphones to the consumer market. While the company initially dominated the foldable phone segment, some critics argue that Samsung has become complacent. This year, other manufacturers have unveiled impressive foldable smartphones that have surpassed Samsung’s current offerings in terms of innovation and features. Examples include the Moto Razr+, Oppo Find N2 Flip, Honor Magic Vs, and more. Tech enthusiasts and consumers are hopeful that Samsung will live up to its promises and introduce new foldable devices that will once again captivate the market.
