Samsung’s new dual-camera sensor shown at MWC Shanghai 2017, may debut with Galaxy Note 8

At the ongoing MWC Shanghai 2017 technology conference, Samsung introduced its ‘ISOCELL’ imaging sensor brand. The brand is named after the company’s own ISOCELL camera technology and is underlined by four sub brands – Bright, Fast, Slim and Dual. Among these, the last one – Dual, could be used for the dual-camera setup of the upcoming Galaxy Note 8 phablet.
Samsung ISOCELL Bright is claimed to deliver bright and sharp images with high colour fidelity and low noise levels when shooting in low-light environments. The ISOCELL Fast, as its name suggests, provides fast autofocus on still or moving objects, even in low-light.
The ISOCELL Slim line of sensors, as Samsung says, will “adopt the smallest pixel sizes available in the market at 0.9-1.0um,” all while delivering high-quality images for thin devices.
Lastly, the ISOCELL Dual can be mixed and matched in different combinations “to bring about features demanded in the latest dual-camera trend.”
Samsung has not yet confirmed anything about its upcoming Galaxy Note 8 phablet. However, recent rumours and leaks have pointed towards the fact that the Note 8 will indeed sport a dual camera setup at the back.
According to a recent report by VentureBeat website, Galaxy Note 8 could be priced around EUR 900 (roughly Rs 72,000). Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is said to come with a 6.3-inch edge-to-edge AMOLED ‘Infinity Display that will have the same aspect ratio as Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+.
The report further added that the smartphone will be unveiled in the second half of September and come with an S-Pen stylus.
Furthermore, Galaxy Note 8 with either come with an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 or an Exynos 8895 SoC, based on the market. It’ll also have 6GB of RAM, making it the third Samsung smartphone (after Galaxy S8+ 6GB edition and Galaxy C9 Pro) to have this much amount of RAM.
It’s also been mentioned that the smartphone will sport a 3,300mAh battery. As for the software, Note 8 could let users operate on split-screen mode more easily than before. Samsung Dex support is said to be included as well. The phablet could come in Black, Blue and Gold colours.
