Samsung Z1 Tizen Smartphone Will Launch On 18 january 2015 In India

Samsung is all set to launch the Samsung Z1, the company’s budget Tizen OS samsung Z1 Tizensmartphone in India on January 18th 2015, according to a report from Korea Economic Daily. Earlier reports in September and November said that the Tizen powered smartphone will hit Indian markets by November or December. Looks like the launch will finally happen in January. Samsung has also started their partners meet for the Samsung Z1 in India. Since January 18th lies on Sunday, the date might be wrong.

Samsung Tizen smartphone with model number SM-Z130H) showed up last month. According to earlier rumors, it will come with a 4-inch WVGA (800×480) TFT LCD display panel, powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core Spreadtrum SC7727S processor with 460.8MHz ARM Mali-400 GPU,  768MB RAM, 3-megapixel main camera with LED flash, and a 0.3 megapixel front facing camera, 3G, Wi-Fi, dual SIM capabilities. It would run on the latest Tizen OS 2.3 that was shown off on the Samsung Z smartphone at the Samsung Developer Conference in San Francisco last month.

Samsung is targeting a price of 100,000 Korean won ($90 or Rs. 5,750 approx) and is planning to launch the smartphone in China in February 2015 and in Korea within the first half of 2015, says the report. Update: Here are the images of the Samsung Z1 from Manish Khatri from Mahesh Telecom from the partners meet. Rumored specs are almost correct. It would come with 768MB RAM, instead of 512MB RAM as rumored earlier and has 1500mAh battery.

The recent reports coming up from Samsung suggests that the Tizen-based Z1 handset will arrive India on 18 January. The Samsung official, quoted in ‘The Korean Economic Daily’ report has revealed that the smartphone will not cost more than Rs 5,700 in the country. The company has also informed that the smartphone will be available via online or offline retail outlets, through its ‘existing sales network’.
