Samsung is working on a foldable phone dubbed Galaxy X. No secret there. But now a new patent from Samsung reveals a new secret about the much-awaited foldable Galaxy X. The upcoming Galaxy X will be built of flexible material which will allow the phone to bend when you press on it. The patent shows that pressure applied from you on the display will also allow the display to determine how hard you are pressing the screen with your finger. This means that Galaxy X will come with a pressure sensitive display. What is pressure sensitive display? Galaxy X will not be a first or the only device to come with such display. Many smartphones already have this feature. It basically allows your smartphone to measure the force of your press on the display and help OS perform different actions depending on the pressure level. Apple calls this 3D Touch or Force touch and has made it mainstream by bringing it to iPhone 6S and up models. Galaxy X rumours and leaks: Samsung had put up a support page for Galaxy X in November. This was first reported by Mobiel Kopen. The page reveals SM-G888N0 as the model number for the Galaxy X. Rumours have it that Samsung could unveil the Galaxy X alongside the Galaxy S9 and S9+ but it is advisable to take this information with a pinch of salt considering Samsung Galaxy X has been under works for quite some time now and nothing official has been said about it. There are reports that Samsung could launch the Galaxy X soon. A Forbes report suggests that Samsung could unveil the phone in the South Korean market first and later launch it in other markets. The phone could be folded like a wallet and was also certified in South Korea by Korean National Radio Research Agency (NRRA) in September. The much-rumored Galaxy X is expected to be a high-end device with two displays, of which one would be flexible. About the innards, the smartphone could come with Qualcomm Snapdragon 835. Again, this information cannot be fully trusted as Qualcomm has already launched its latest Snapdragon 845 chipset and Samsung usually equips its devices with the latest processor.
