The much-anticipated Samsung Galaxy S5 Active, a rumoured smartphone that has appeared in a number of leaked videos earlier, has been once again teased – this time in an image.

The alleged leaked Galaxy S5 Active image came via a Twitter post courtesy @evleaks, and shows the front panel of the AT&T variant of the smartphone. The customised UI on the smartphone in the image is similar to the TouchWiz implementation seen on the Galaxy S5.

Interestingly, the alleged Galaxy S5 Active smartphone in the leaked image seems to lack the fingerprint sensor of the flagship, and instead just bears three physical keys for home screen, multi-window and backward navigation. The overall design also seems to be sturdier than the Galaxy S5 handset.

Some of alleged Galaxy S5 Active specificationslisted in the benchmark results in a recently leaked video include a Snapdragon 801 processor; full-HD display; 2GB of RAM and Android 4.4.2 KitKat.

We are expecting that the Galaxy S5 Active will be dust and waterproof, much like the Galaxy S4 Active. The flagship Galaxy S5 (Review |Pictures) is a dust and water-resistant device.

The Galaxy S5 Active is also likely to come with a water-resistant earphone jack, so one can use earphones even during wet conditions. Similar to the Galaxy S4 Active, the Galaxy S5 Active is alsoexpected to be able to take pictures underwater and feature an ‘Aqua Mode’ for the same.

The much-anticipated rugged version of the Galaxy S5 is also said to sport an app dubbed Active Zone. This Galaxy S5 Active-exclusive app will reportedly be an improved version of the S Health app available on the Samsung Galaxy S5 handset.

The Active Zone app, as demonstrated in the alleged Galaxy S5 Active video, includes a barometer, compass, and shortcut keys to flash light, stopwatch and S Health. The Galaxy S5 Active is also seen with an improved OIS for video recording.
