Samsung Galaxy Note 8 to launch in India today

Korean tech giant Samsung is all set to launch latest flagship phablet Samsung Galaxy Note 8 in India today. The device was already up for pre-booking since September 2 on Samsung’s India website. The device will be available on Amazon online and across authorized Samsung retail stores in the country.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 will be available in three variants based on in-built storage – 64GB/128GB and 256GB. The device sports a 6.3-inch Quad HD+ (2960×1440 pixels) Super AMOLED ‘Infinity’ display with 521ppi. It is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, clubbed with 6GB LPDDR4 RAM and runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat operating system out-of-the-box.
Backed by a 3300mAh battery, the Galaxy Note 8 supports wireless fast charging tech. Some of the connectivity options include Bluetooth v5.0, USB Type-C, NFC, GPS and Wi-Fi.
The smartphone comes with a dual rear camera setup, which includes two 12MP sensors. While the first one is a wide angled lens with f/1.7 aperture, the secondary camera includes a telephoto zoom lens with f/2.4 aperture. At the front, there is an 8MP f/1.7 aperture shooter.
Samsung also says that both the rear cameras come with OIS or Optical Image Stabiliser. There is a Dual Capture mode as well wherein both rear cameras take two pictures simultaneously. Users can save keep both images: One close-up shot from the telephoto lens and one wide-angle shot that shows the entire background.
As for the stylus, Samsung has introduced an ‘enhanced’ S Pen that can take notes in Screen off memo or quickly annotate documents and photos. It has a finer tip and improved pressure sensitivity. The company has also introduced Live Messages that lets you handwrite a message, add special effects and share it as an animated GIF.
Samsung launched Galaxy Note 8 late last month at an event in New York, US. Galaxy Note 8 is one of the company’s most expensive smartphone launched so far. The base variant of Samsung Galaxy Note 8 will be available at $930 (roughly Rs 60,000) with US carrier T-Mobile. At $930, Galaxy Note 8’s launch price is higher than the launch price of the company’s other flagship smartphones including Samsung Galaxy S8+ and Galaxy Note 7 . It is expected that the India pricing will also be around the same figure.
