Samsung Galaxy A8+ (2018) to launch today: Specifications, expected price and more

Samsung is all set to launch its Galaxy A8+ (2018) smartphone in India today. The launch event will begin at 12PM and will be made available exclusively from Amazon India. The device has already been confirmed by the company via its official Twitter handle. Since the Samsung Galaxy A8+ (2018) has already been launched in Vietnam, its specifications are not a secret. However, the price and release details are yet to be known.
Expected Samsung Galaxy A8+ (2018) price in India
Although there is no word on the smartphone’s price in India, we can at least assume the price bracket in which it may be falling. The Galaxy A8+ (2018) is priced at VND 13,490,000 in Vietnam. This roughly comes to Rs 38,000. If the handset is priced over Rs 35,000, it will have handsets like OnePlus 5T, Nokia 8 and even LG G6 as its potential competitors. However, we expect the company to launch the device with some exchange offers or EMIs as well.
Like we mentioned above, the specifications of the smartphone are already out as it has been launched in Vietnam. The Android 7.1 Nougat-based Galaxy A8+ (2018) sports a 6-inch Full HD+ display along with Corning Gorilla Glass 5. It is powered by the company’s own processor – octa-core Exynos 7885 processor with Mali-G71 GPU.
It features 6GB RAM with 64GB internal storage and supports a microSD card slot as well.
One of the highlights of the smartphone is its dual front camera setup. There is a 6MP primary front camera with f/1.9 aperture and a secondary 8MP camera with f/1.9 aperture. At the back users get a 16MP camera with f/1.7 aperture and LED flash.
At the time of the launch the company said that, “The Dual Front Camera is made up of two separate cameras so you can switch between the two to take the type of selfie you want – from close-ups with the background to portrait shots with a clear and crisp background. And with the advanced Live Focus feature, you can easily adjust the bokeh effect before or after you take the picture to create high-quality images.”
Besides sporting a fingerprint sensor at the back, the device is IP68 rated, which makes it dust and water resistant. Backing the device is a 3500mAh battery.
