Samsung Expands Galaxy AI to 22 Languages, Adds Gujarati and Filipino

Samsung has broadened the linguistic reach of its Galaxy AI platform by adding support for Gujarati and Filipino—bringing the total to 22 languages.  The rollout began on October 29, 2025, and allows users of compatible Galaxy devices to download new language packs via the Settings menu.

Bridging Language Barriers

With the addition of Gujarati and Filipino, Galaxy AI expands its global voice to help native speakers access advanced AI features such as Live Translate, Interpreter, Chat Assist, Note Assist, Transcript Assist, and Browsing Assist. The language expansion aligns with Samsung’s vision of making mobile AI more inclusive and empowering users irrespective of their primary language.

Regional Relevance and Collaboration

Samsung developed the Gujarati and Filipino models in partnership with its research centres in India and Indonesia respectively. This collaboration ensured that the language packs reflect natural usage, idioms, and regional nuances—not just literal translations. According to Samsung, Gujarati has over 60 million speakers, while Filipino (Tagalog) is used daily by approximately 87 million people—highlighting the impact of this upgrade in populous regions.

Widespread Adoption and Impact

Since its debut with the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy AI has seen accelerating usage. In India, 91 % of Galaxy S25 users reportedly engage with AI features, and globally over 70 % of Galaxy S25 owners use Galaxy AI or companion solutions such as Google Gemini. Samsung estimates that Galaxy AI will be available on over 400 million devices by end of 2025—a sharp increase from 200 million devices in 2024.

What Users Can Do

  • How to enable: Navigate to Settings → Advanced Intelligence on a compatible Galaxy device, and download the Gujarati or Filipino language pack.

  • Key features unlocked:

    • Live Translate: Real-time two-way voice/text translations during calls or chats.

    • Interpreter: Instant face-to-face translation via split-screen.

    • Chat Assist: Tone-aware suggestions in Gujarati or Filipino to suit different contexts.

    • Note & Transcript Assist: Summarize, format, or translate voice recordings and notes in new languages.

    • Browsing Assist: Condense webpages into quick summaries in Gujarati or Filipino.

The Bigger Picture

This update underscores the importance of regional language support in AI adoption. By tailoring features to local languages and usage patterns, Samsung is addressing the growing demand for inclusive, culturally relevant technology. For users in India and the Philippines, these enhancements mean smoother communication, easier multitasking, and better integration with daily workflows—all in their native language.

In essence, Samsung’s latest move with Galaxy AI makes mobile intelligence more accessible, more localized, and better aligned with the dynamics of global and multilingual consumers.
