Snapdeal has announced a strategic tie-up with Rio Mobile, a smartphone manufacturer that is promoted by TriStar Products, a beauty accessory company. Under this tie-up, Snapdeal has launched a range of affordable smartphones.
The smartphones are named after three globally popular cities, New York, Paris and London and come at a price range of Rs.3,399 to Rs 4,999.
The Rio New York R501 is a phablet featuring a 12.7-cm (5-inch) FWVGA IPS display, an 8MP autofocus camera with flash and a 2MP front facing camera along with a 2000mAh battery.
The Rio Paris R301 sports a 11.43-cm (4.5-inch) FWVGA IPS display, a 5MP camera with flash and a 2MP front facing camera along with a 1700mAh Battery.
The Rio London R201 features a 10.16 (4-inch) WVGA bright display, a 5MP camera with flash and a 2MP front facing camera powered by a 1500mAh Battery. Both the Rio London and Rio Paris smartphones share some common specifications. They run on an Android KitKat 4.4 OS and sport a 1.3 GHz quad core processor. The devices also have 512MB RAM and an internal storage of 4GB. Both the new budget smartphones also support 3G connectivity, one of the highlights of the handsets at the price point. Apart from 3G, other connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS/ A-GPS, and Micro-USB. Both also sport a 5-megapixel rear camera with flash and 2-megapixel front camera. Both the Rio London and Rio Paris smartphones come with 4GB inbuilt storage that’s further expandable via microSD card (up to 32GB).
