Realme Teases Enigmatic Arrival of C51 Smartphone in Indian Market

Realme, a prominent player in the Indian smartphone market, has been making waves with its recent introductions of new smartphones and accessories. Continuing its momentum, the brand has tantalizingly hinted at the imminent release of a new addition to its C-series lineup. The company’s latest enigmatic post on social media platform X is captioned with an intriguing promise: “Buckle up as the newest champion is coming soon in town!”

The teaser image accompanying the post showcases the upcoming smartphone with a distinctive feature called “Mini Capsule,” akin to a Dynamic Island. This is not an entirely novel concept within the Realme sphere, as the C55 model, unveiled in March, also embraced the Mini Capsule design. However, while the earlier release displayed a punch-hole display, the forthcoming phone opts for a notched display.

Though Realme has chosen to keep the smartphone’s moniker under wraps for the time being, the suspense isn’t unbreakable. A dive into the link shared in the company’s X post leads to the promotional page of the smartphone on the official Indian website, where the URL clearly references the C51. This tacit confirmation effectively establishes that the C51 is poised to make its debut on the Indian smartphone stage soon.

It’s important to note that the Realme C51 isn’t entirely fresh off the design board; its offerings are quite clear. The smartphone is underpinned by a robust 12m octa-core processor, boasting a formidable maximum clock speed of 1.82GHz. To handle graphics-intensive tasks, the phone is equipped with a Mali G57 GPU, while its multitasking capabilities are bolstered by 4GB of LPDDR4X RAM. Users can choose between 64GB and 128GB of internal storage, and the device further provides the convenience of a dedicated microSD card slot, allowing storage expansion of up to 2TB. It’s noteworthy that the smartphone arrives with Android 13-based Realme UI T Edition right out of the box.

The Realme C51 centers around a generous 6.74″ 90Hz screen, presumably an LCD panel, which touts a peak brightness of 560 nits. Its 180Hz touch sampling rate ensures a responsive touch experience, while the notch accommodates a 5MP selfie camera. Flipping the phone over, the back panel showcases a dual-finish design, accentuated by three circular elements – one dedicated to the flash, and two housing the cameras (including a 50MP primary sensor and a likely depth sensor).

Powering the Realme C51 is a robust 5,000 mAh battery, promising a noteworthy feat of reaching 50% charge from flat in a mere 28 minutes. Additionally, the smartphone features an NFC chip, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. The color palette for this model includes Mint Green and Carbon Black, both of which are slated to grace the Indian market. The exact branding of these colors in India remains a detail yet to be unveiled, adding an element of anticipation for the consumers in the world’s second-largest smartphone market.
