Precision 16V OpAmps From STMicroelectronics Eliminate Post-Assembly Trimming

STMicroelectronics has introduced the new TSX7 series of precision 16V opampsthat combinevery high accuracy N3820D -- May 11 2016 -- TSX7 op amps_IMAGEwith a wide operating-voltage range and excellent robustness. The low input-offset voltage, Common Mode Rejection Ratio (CMRR), and temperature drifteliminate any need for trimming or calibration in the assembled circuit while ensuring consistent performance over a wide automotive-grade temperature range from-40ยฐC to 125ยฐC. The new devices build on STโ€™s advanced 18V analog manufacturing technology and the success of its TSX5, TSX6, and TSX9 series of low-power opamps. The low input-bias current and the energy-efficient combination of low power consumption and gainbandwidth make the TSX7 series idealfor use in power-constrained sensor-signal-conditioning applications, while the wide supply-voltage range, stability in challenging operating conditions, and tolerance of electrostatic discharge (ESD) up to 4kV (Human Body Model)fitwell in applications such as industrial equipment, building automation, medical instrumentation, LED lighting, and automotive Electronic Control Units (ECUs).In addition, the rail-to-rail input and output functionality allow the TSX7 op ampsto be used for low-side and high-side current measurementswithout limitation.

Key technical features include:

  • ย Input offset voltage no more than 200 ยตV at 25ยฐC;

  • Minimum guaranteed Common Mode Rejection Ratio (CMRR) of 91dB

  • Maximum temperature drift of 2.5ยตV/ยฐC;

  • Excellent energy-efficient combinationof power consumption and gain bandwidth (GBW) with maximum Icc of 850ยตA for 2.7MHz GBW and 9MHz GBW for Gain โ‰ฅ10.

    The TSX7 op amps are in volume production, with prices starting from $0.52 for 1,000 units.
