Pixel Watch June 2023 update rolling out

Google has started rolling out the June 2023 update for the Pixel Watch, although it is delayed for Pixel phones. This update is expected to be a significant quarterly release. The Pixel Watch now runs on the June 5, 2023, security patch level with the new build number RWDC.230605.004, which is an upgrade from last month’s build number RWDA.230114.013.

While Google’s changelog doesn’t specify any particular changes, it does mention bug fixes and improvements for Pixel Watch users, along with the regular security patch. The rollout will be phased over the next week based on carrier and device. To initiate the download, users can repeatedly tap the “Your watch is up to date” screen in the System updates settings. Disabling Bluetooth in Connectivity preferences can help speed up the process by forcing Wi-Fi.

Interestingly, the System updates screen now features a gray background instead of black, which highlights the Pixel Watch’s thicker bezels. As for user-facing changes, the PIN pad now displays larger numbers.

In addition, users can look forward to an update to the Wear OS System UI this month, enabling animated Google Home camera previews.
