Pixel 7 and 7 Pro are coming to India! Android lovers rejoice.

Google recently confirmed that its flagship Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro smartphones will be launched in India as well. This comes after the devices were launched back at the Google I/O 2022 summit but there hadn’t been any word on the India launch of the devices. The global launch event is now slated for October 7, 2022 at an on-ground event in New York. There is a bit of a bummer since there is still no word on whether Google will be launching the much-anticipated Pixel Watch and other Nest devices in India.

The announcement of the India launch of the two devices was made by Google on Twitter. As seen in the past, this time as well, we can expect Google to partner with Flipkart for exclusive online sale of the two devices. Long-term enthusiasts will rejoice about the launch of Google’s flagship given that Google had skipped the Indian markets for a couple of years now. In fact, the last flagship phones from Google in India were the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3XL. Since then, only the Pixel 6a, which is a mid-ranger as far as specifications are concerned, had been launched.

From the details disclosed as the Google I/O 2022, we know that the latest and greatest from Google’s stable will incorporate their newest silicone as well. The Pixel 7 series will be making use of Google’s second-generation Tensor chipsets. While the 1st-gen Tensor chipset sported two high-performance Cortex-X1 cores, two mid-cores and four high-efficiency cores, paired with a 20-core GPU, this year’s Tensor silicone is expected to beats the older chipset in raw performance and optimization.

Other details known about the devices from launches elsewhere are the color options for the two devices. The Pixel 7 Pro will come in Obsidian, Snow and Hazel and the Pixel 7 model will sport a Lemongrass shade instead of the Hazel, with the other colors remaining the same as the Pro model.
