Panasonic taps the market with Eluga Tapp with fingerprint sensor priced at Rs 8,990

Panasonic launched its new Smartphone dubbed – the Eluga Tapp today. Available in three colour variants -Champagne Gold and panasonicSilver Grey, the handset is priced at Rs 8,990.

The Eluga Tapp comes with a fingerprint sensor, placed at the bottom on its 5-inch full-HD IPS display. Like other handsets, the sensor, unlocks the smartphone and adds a layer of security to the user’s personal data.

What’s new is that it also comes with an ‘Android for work’ feature which lets users keep their business apps different from the personal ones.

The smartphone supports dual-SIM and is 4G VoLTE compatible running on the Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box. It is backed by a quad-core processor clocked at 2GHz, clubbed with a 2GB RAM. It has a 16GB inbuilt storage expandable upto 32GB with a microSD card.

The device sports an 8MP rear autofocus camera along with a 5MP front-facing camera for selfies. Backed by a 2800mAh non-removable battery, the Eluga Tapp weighs 138 grams and comes with a protective screen guard. At the given price tag, it will be competing against the Moto E3 Power and the Samsung Galaxy On7.

The company recently launched its P77 4G VoLTE-enabled handset priced at Rs 6,990. The smartphone is less powerful than the Eluga Tapp in terms of specifications. The device features a 5-inch HD display with 720×1280 pixel resolution. Under the hood is a 1GHz quad-core processor running on the Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system.

The smartphone offers a 1GB RAM and 8GB internal storage. Users can further expand the storage up to 32GB by installing a microSD card. The device sports an 8MP rear camera with LED flash and a 2MP front facing camera. In terms of connectivity, the smartphone offers 4G, 3G, Wi0Fi, Bluetooth and GPS. It houses a 2,000mAh battery.
