Panasonic Introduces Android Based Toughpad FZ-B2 Tablet

Panasonic has unveiled a new Android based rugged tablet under the Toughpad series, dubbed as Toughpad FZ-B2 tablet, purportedly designed for business use. The device is powered by a 64-bit Intel Celeron N2930 (4 cores, 4 threads, 2MB cache, 1.83GHz base clock up to 2.16GHz with burst) processor. It also includes Intel HD Graphics (313MHz base frequency, up to 854MHz with burst).

As per the company’s listing, the Toughpad FZ-B2 tablet features 17.78-cm (7-inch) WXGA (800×1200 pixels) IPS LCD display with capacitive 5-finger multi-touch support. It runs on Android 4.4 KitKat out-of-the box. It comes with 5MP rear camera and 2MP front facing camera, it comes with 8MP optional rear camera. 


The tablet packs 2GB RAM, 32GB internal storage space which can further be expanded via microSD card. It also meets the MIL-STD-810G standard and has been given IP65 rating for dust and water resistance. Further, it has been drop-tested from the height of 180cm. 

For connectivity purpose, the Panasonic FZ-B2 tablet supports Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.0 and USB 3.0 options and comes with replaceable 3220mAh battery. The tablet will be available in Europe from December onwards at the cost of GBP 709 (approx 70,600) and from February onwards in US, priced for $1,299 (roughly Rs. 80,000). The company has not yet revealed the availability details in other markets.
