Panasonic Eluga U Available Online Ahead of Launch at Rs. 17,490

While Panasonic will officially introduce its new Eluga smartphone series for India later on Wednesday, the yet-to-be-announced Panasonic Eluga U is already up for sale on an online retailer at a price of Rs. 17,490.

According to the retailer’s listing, the yet-to-be-announced Panasonic Eluga U runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat out-of-the-box, and offers dual-SIM (Micro-SIM) support. It is said to feature a 5-inch (720×1280 pixels) IPS OGS display, and be powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor coupled with 2GB of RAM.

The listing also shows that the Panasonic Eluga U will come with a 13-megapixel autofocus rear camera with LED flash, and a 2-megapixel resolution front-facing camera. The smartphone is listed with 16GB of built-in storage that’s expandable via microSD card (up to 32GB).

The Panasonic Eluga U is listed with a weight of 141 grams, and measures 141.5×71.3×7.95mm. The smartphone packs a 2500mAh battery. Connectivity options on the Eluga U include 3G, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Bluetooth 4.0, and GPS/ A-GPS.

The smartphone is listed by a retailer on eBay along with manufacturer warranty.

On Tueday, established Mumbai-based retailer Mahesh Telecom had also posted an alleged brochure image of the Panasonic Eluga U smartphone, suggesting a discounted price of Rs. 18,590 against an MRP of Rs. 20,990. Apart from showing the Panasonic Fit Home UI, the image posted by the retailer didn’t contain any specifications of the Panasonic Eluga U smartphone.

The Eluga series of smartphones was first introduced by the company in 2012 before being discontinued. Panasonic had launched the Eluga DL1 and the Eluga Power for the European market.
