Oppo to initiate a four-year complimentary battery replacement program, commencing with the Oppo A2 Pro 5G

According to well-known tipster Digital Chat Station, Oppo is preparing to launch a battery replacement program that will offer free battery replacements within a four-year period. The first smartphone eligible for this program is expected to be the Oppo A2 Pro 5G. Additionally, another tipster, WHYLAB, suggests that if the battery’s health falls below 80 percent within four years, it will qualify for replacement through after-sales service, extending beyond the typical 1- to 2-year industry warranty. Although Oppo has not officially confirmed the arrival of the A2 Pro, recent reports have provided extensive details about the device.

The upcoming Oppo A2 Pro 5G was recently spotted in China Telecom’s product library database. According to the listing, it will be available in three configurations: 8GB RAM + 256GB storage for 2,099 yuan (approximately $288), 12GB RAM + 256GB storage for 2,299 yuan (approximately $315), and 12GB RAM + 512GB storage for 2,499 yuan (approximately $343).

Please note that these prices are tentative and subject to change before the official launch. The A2 Pro will be offered in colors such as Vast Black, Desert Brown, and Dusk Cloud Purple. It is expected to debut on September 15 and become available for purchase by September 22.

The Oppo A2 Pro 5G will feature a 6.7-inch OLED display with curved edges, offering FHD+ resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and an under-display fingerprint sensor. It is anticipated to run on Android 13 with ColorOS 13 layered on top.

The device is likely to be powered by the Dimensity 7050 chipset, offering up to 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage. It will pack a 5,000mAh battery with support for 67W fast charging.

On the rear, the phone will house a 64-megapixel primary camera and a 2-megapixel macro or depth sensor. For selfies and video calls, an 8-megapixel front-facing camera will be provided.
