OnePlus TV Q Series & 55U1 to Get OTA6 Update

OnePlus TV Q series and 55U1 will be getting them Over the Air 6′ update in November which will be the 6th firmware update for the Television models. The company has shared via an official forum post the changelog for the update, as well as the information on a couple of interesting features such as MultiCast and the latest ‘My Video’ page. The TV Q series comprises of the OnePlus TV Q1 and its Pro version that was presented in 2019’s September, and the 55U1 was introduced in 2020’s July.

As per the official OnePlus forum, the OTA6 update will bring the latest specifications features to the OnePlus TV Q series and 55U1. Additionally, some features will be added to the OnePlus Connect application as well as the User Metrics, Power-Off Timer, and Clean Background Applications. User Metrics will permit users to check things such as screen time and data usage.

Coming to its latest specifications that will be added to the 3 OnePlus TV variants, MultiCast is the latest way of casting from a device on to user’s Television. Whereas MiraCast and Chromecast let you cast from 1 device to user TV, MultiCast will permit you to cast up to 4 devices on the OnePlus Television. This can be useful in case of sheet comparisons, multi-player gaming, or other such situations.

Another specification is the ‘My Videos’ page that will be added to OxygenPlay, the launcher on top of Android Television. This page will let the users see personal watch history, watchlist, and reminders. It will further let easily restarting a paused movie or tv show.

This update for the OnePlus TV Q series and 55U1 will be made obtainable in the month of November. OnePlus has not shared an accurate date for the release. Furthermore, it is working on the 3rd system update for the TV Y Series too.
