OnePlus confirms new affordable phone line is coming to India and Europe first

The OnePlus Z or OnePlus Nord smartphone is something we’ve heard OnePlus was working on for a while. This phone is anticipated to be a mid-range device similar to the OnePlus X from 2015.

The development of a “new, more economical smartphone product line” has now been disclosed by OnePlus on its forum. The brand continues by saying that many customers desire phones with “more accessible” prices. It appears that the first wave of this new product line will exclude North America.

“As we have always done when we try something new, we are going to start relatively small with this new product line by first introducing it in Europe and India. But don’t worry, we’re also looking to bring more affordable smartphones to North America in the near future as well,” the company noted on its forum.

OnePlus sent viewers to a private Instagram account with the intriguing username “OnePlusLiteZThing” as a way to wrap up the post.

It’s also important to take note of the fact that OnePlus is referring to this as a new product line, which suggests that this isn’t a one-off device like the OnePlus X. This would imply that, like the company’s mainstream flagships, the OnePlus Z and OnePlus Nord are released every year.

Whatever the case, it’s expected that the less expensive OnePlus phone would come with a Snapdragon 765 series chipset, four rear cameras, a 90Hz screen, and 30W charging. Hope the cost is as impressive as these ostensible specs.
