Once Mighty Hotmail gives way to Outlook.com

Microsoft has announced it has successfully transferred all Hotmail.com users to Outlook.com. In his blog, Dick Craddock announced the completion of up gradation of Outlook.com.

He adds, “Today, we’re excited to announce that we’ve completed upgrading all Hotmail customers to Outlook.com. Coupled with the growing organic excitement for Outlook.com, this has pushed us to over 400 million active Outlook.com accounts”
 
The move has marked the end of the once-mighty free email service.
According to the blog, Microsoft took 6 weeks to transfer 150 mn gigabytes of email data.
 
The webpage Hotmail.com now redirects to Outlook.com. Microsoft said users don’t have to update the settings on their smartphones, and they can keep their ‘@hotmail.com’ email addresses.
