NEW DELHI: The long-awaited Xiaomi Mi 5 smartphone has been a no-show this year so far, but the handset may finally make an official appearance soon.
Xiaomi has reportedly been delaying the launch of Mi 5, its next flagship, as it is waiting for Qualcomm to finish developing the new Snapdragon 820 chip. However, Weibo-user Leaksfly has said that the chipmaker will unveil the top-end Snapdragon processor on November 20, thus paving the way for the launch of the next Xiaomi top model.

According to Leaksfly’s post on Weibo, Xiaomi Mi 5 will be announced on December 3.
It is expected that Mi 5 will have a 5.2-inch QHD (1440x2560p) screen, 4GB RAM, 16MP rear camera, 8MP front camera, fingerprint scanner, USB Type C and the latest version of MIUI software.

Xiaomi is expected to launch Mi 5 at approximately 1,900 yuan (Rs 21,000 in India). The smartphone will be a rival to models like OnePlus 2, Nexus 6P and Moto X Style, but undercut them in terms of price.
