Nvidia faces a lawsuit following an incident where a senior employee unintentionally displayed confidential files obtained from a previous employer during a video meeting

Nvidia is facing a lawsuit from Paris-based automotive tech firm Valeo, alleging that one of Nvidia’s software engineers, Mohammad Moniruzzaman, shared confidential files from his former employer during a video meeting.

Valeo claims that Moniruzzaman downloaded its advanced parking and driving assistance systems’ source code without authorization, in violation of IT codes.

The files were reportedly used by Nvidia, and Valeo discovered the breach when Moniruzzaman, during a video call, inadvertently displayed the source code on his screen.

Valeo is seeking legal consequences for Nvidia, including damages and an injunction against using or disclosing its trade secrets.

Moniruzzaman was convicted of unlawful acquisition, use, and disclosure of Valeo’s trade secrets by German authorities in September 2023.

Nvidia’s stock prices dropped slightly after its recent earnings call, leading some analysts to suggest that investors may view the company as overvalued.
