Nutanix announced its entry into the Indian market

Nutanix declared its entry into the Indian market and plans to build a large team of highly skilled engineers in Bangalore. As a part of its go-to-Nutanix_Logo_itvoicemarket strategy, Nutanix will also look at partnering with System Integrators who will add value through its expertise in virtualization, storage and servers providing outreach to small, medium and large enterprises across the country.

The company also disclosed its planned relationship with Dell, one of the world’s largest integrated IT companies, who will provide a new series of converged infrastructure appliances. This is in line with Nutanix’s objective to simplify operations, design, management and growth of enterprise datacenters with a 100 percent software-defined system. This helps optimize any virtual workload, and solves CIO challenges arising from the proliferation of new technologies like cloud, analytics, mobility and social media.

Powered by Nutanix software and built on Dell PowerEdge servers, the Dell XC Series of Web-scale Converged Appliances will offer a hyper converged server, storage and networking appliance that addresses the needs of low-cost, highly efficient data storage. Nutanix’s NOS software scales out to add capacity and performance. The operating system provides enterprise class support for scale-out virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI), big data, private cloud and branch office computing.

Nutanix is in the forefront of web-scale innovation and aims to provide the Indian market with next-generation datacenter infrastructure solutions. As infrastructure gets converged, automated and simplified, IT organizations will see a reduction in rigid management silos and move towards collaboration and agility,” said Dheeraj Pandey, co-founder and CEO of Nutanix. “We are glad to be partnering with one of the world leaders in storage, servers and networking. The product is in sync with our vision to deliver easy-to-use products based around fundamental technology shifts in enterprise mobility, consumer-grade design, big data analytics, and hybrid cloud architectures to deliver the benefits of web-scale technologies to the masses.

Commenting on the relationship, Neeraj Matiyani, Director, Storage Solutions, Dell India said, “With a focus on delivering end-to-end data centre capabilities, Dell offers customers multiple software defined infrastructure options, along with partners like Nutanix, where Dell infrastructure, services and support are integral to the solutions. With a number of organizations opting for converged infrastructure in India, the Nutanix and Dell relationship offers an excellent approach to designing, building and managing this through its web-scale infrastructure. We are excited about Nutanix expanding its presence into India and are confident that the Dell-Nutanix relationship will benefit customers seeking an integrated IT approach, offering simple deployment, management and scale as needed.”

“With an increase in demand for integrated systems in India, we believe that the new approach of web scale infrastructure designing, deploying and managing datacenters is what is required to make the functioning of datacenters radically simpler and more efficient,” said Sanchit Vir Gogia, Chief Analyst & CEO, Greyhound Research.  “With Nutanix, converging computing and storage resources into a single appliance, it’s an evolution in virtualization within datacenters. The partnership between Dell and Nutanix is a very strong one. Dell has a strong presence in India and extremely solid relationships with customers. Nutanix on the other hand, is an expert in web scale infrastructure. Both these strengths when put together will ultimately play out for the customers benefit.”
