Nokia to launch new Android smartphones just ahead of MWC 2017

At the recently concluded CES 2017, Nokia marked its return to the smartphone market and launched its first ever Android smartphone since 2014 – Nokia 6. Now, cementing previous reports that it may lau56494617nch at least 5 handsets this year, Nokia has strongly hinted at the announcement of a few more Android smartphones, right before the commencement of MWC 2017 at Barcelona.
According to a Facebook post on Nokia Mobile’s official page, the new smartphones could launch on February 26, just a day before MWC 2017. The company also announced the release date of its Nokia 6 Android smartphone in China. “Get ready! The Nokia 6 is coming to China! More announcements to follow on February 26th… Save the date!,” reads the post followed by the official Nokia 6 promotional video. In China, JD.com website has also started taking registrations for the Nokia 6 smartphone. It will go on sale starting January 19. The device is priced at 1,699 Yuan, which roughly translates to Rs 17,000. To recall, HMD Global, the company that has the exclusive rights to manufacture and sell Nokia-branded smartphones, unveiled the Nokia 6 handset last week.
The Nokia 6 runs Android 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box and supports dual-SIM features. It has a 5.5-inch Full HD display with 2.5D curved glass coating and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection.
The handset is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor along with 4GB of RAM. The handset has 64GB of internal storage, which can expanded via microSD cards of up to 128GB. For imaging duties, the Nokia 6 has a 16MP rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, Phase Detection Autofocus and f/2.0 aperture. There is also an 8MP front-facing camera with 84-degree wide angle lens and f/2.0 aperture. The 4G LTE -supporting Nokia 6 comes with Bluetooth v4.1, GPS, USB OTG and Wi-Fi connectivity, and is backed by a 3,000mAh battery.
