Nokia Appoints Rupa Santosh to Head Nokia Networks’ Technology Center at Bangalore

Rupa SantoshNokia today announced the appointment of Rupa Santosh as head of Nokia Networks’ Technology Center, Bangalore, effective 1 June 2015. In this role, Rupa will continue to manage the centre as amongst the leading research and development site for Nokia Networks globally, as well as an employer of choice within the local ecosystem.  The Bangalore Technology Center is one of the largest R&D centers for Nokia Networks contributing to key
product development in telecommunications networks. Working as an integral part of Nokia
global R&D, the Bangalore center plays a key role in development of several major products. 

The center located at Manyata Tech Park, Bangalore has nearly 4000 workforce. 
“Rupa brings over 20 years of experience in telecommunications network research and
development having performed diverse roles and managed products within Nokia. She brings in exceptional understanding of the telecom industry. Her experience will further strengthen Nokia’s research and development functions globally and for our operations in India,” said Sandeep Girotra, Vice President and head of India Market, Nokia Networks.

Prior to this, Rupa was leading Single RAN R&D at Bangalore where she spear-headed research and development across key network entities like RNC, BTS and Femto, providing
leadership to over 450 member team. Rupa brings with her over two decades of experience in
telecom software development where she has successfully delivered several large-scale, multi-site projects in complex technology areas.
