Nokia 5 with 3GB RAM launched at Rs 13,499

HMD Global, few days after launching the Nokia 2 smartphone globally in an event in India, has now introduced a new variant of the Nokia 5. The only change with the new variant is that it comes with 3GB RAM instead of 2GB.
The Nokia 5 with 3GB LPDDR3 RAM will be available from Flipkart starting November 7 at Rs 13,499. It will be reaching retail outlets in the country from November 14.The handset can be purchased in Matte Black and Tempered Blue colours. Rest of the specifications remain the same.
Nokia 5 is listed on Flipkart with some offers. These include no cost EMI option starting from Rs 1,500 per month. Other EMIs begin from Rs 655 per month. There is a special discount of Rs 1,800 as well. Reliance Jio users who buy the ‘new’ Nokia 5 will get 5GB of 4G data on every recharge of 309 or above, limited to 10 recharges till 31st August 2018.
It is worth mentioning that Nokia 5 with 2GB RAM was launched earlier this year in India at Rs 12,899.
The smartphone, like before, runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS and features built-in Google Assistant. The Nokia 5 has a 5.2-inch IPS LCD display with 720×1280 pixels resolution. The display is coated with 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass. The smartphone sports 6000-series Aluminium built and is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 430. It also features 16GB inbuilt storage.
The dual-SIM supporting smartphone has a 13MP rear camera with PDAF and f/2 aperture along with an 8MP front-facing camera with 84-degree wide angle lens and f/2.0 aperture. It is backed by the same 3000mAh battery.
“Nokia 5 has already forged a reputation for being a beautifully crafted phone which punches well above its weight,” said Ajey Mehta, vice president India, HMD Global at the launch of the new Nokia 5 variant. “Now we have added more memory so fans can get enhanced performance in the same precision engineered design.”
