Nikon D3400 DSLR With Two Telephoto Zoom Lens Launched

Nikon has expanded its camera portfolio by launching the D3400 DSLR along with two telephoto zoom lenses — AF-P 53739537DX NIKKOR 70-300mm f/4.5-6.3G ED and AF-P DX NIKKOR 70-300mm f/4.5-6.3G ED VR. The company will be making the DSLR and the lenses available starting next month. The prices of any of the lenses and camera are yet to be announced.

The Nikon D3400 DSLR has the ability to transfer the clicked images to the smart devices using Bluetooth connectivity. This feature called SnapBridge connects the DSLR with the smart device and transfers the high-res clicked images in a 2MP size to the device. It is also possible to transfer original pictures by selecting manual uploading on the smart device app, says Nikon. Users would have to download the SnapBridge app on their smart devices for using the feature.

On connecting a smart device with the camera users also get unlimited cloud storage on the Nikon Image Space to save thumbnail images of the original shot.

Some of the other features included are embedding up to two pieces of credit information on the image, get Nikon camera firmware update notification on the smartphone or tablet via the SnapBridge app, active D-lighting, Picture Control functionality, and more.

The Nikon D3400 uses CMOS Image sensor and clicks image in 24MP resolution. It can capture images in RAW (.NEF) format, JPEG, RAW+JPEG and only JPEG. It supports SD, SDHC and SDXC external card type, autofocus AF-P lenses, and type E and G AF-S lenses, and has Single, Continuous, Quite, Remote and Self-Timer modes.

With the ISO level ranging from ISO 100-25600, the Nikon D3400 comes with 11 focus points, autofocus and 3D-tracking area modes. It has an inbuilt flash and can also record videos (.MOV) in full-HD resolution (60fps). More details can be found on the Nikon India website.

The Nikon AF-P DX NIKKOR 70-300mm f/4.5-6.3G ED and AF-P DX NIKKOR 70-300mm f/4.5-6.3G ED VR lenses, as per the company, is compatible with Nikon DX-format digital SLR cameras. The lenses are equipped with a VR (Vibration Reduction) function to deliver stable images. These will be available in the later this month.
