Microsoft Introduces Windows 10 Preview For Phones

microsoft india logoTech-giant Microsoft is all set to introduce Windows 10 for phones with a lot of new features for techies who are part of the preview program. As per a blog post by Microsoft, the updated Windows will support Lumia 930/Lumia Icon, Lumia 640 and 640XL. Interestingly, it also announces the update to a non-Lumia smartphone (HTC One M8) for the first time ever. The post further confirms that Windows 10 will be unveiled for phones after it is launched for PCs.

Windows 10 for phones is set to come with Windows Store Beta, which is quite similar to Store Beta on PCs. Store Beta would consist of live Movies & TV page. However, the Musicoption is likely to come in the next build.

Additionally, the Windows 10 Mobile Build will consist of Universal Office apps like Word, Excel, PowerPoint , OneNote Preview, Xbox app, Music Preview app and the Video Preview app.

It will also come with a new camera app with features like HDR, video stabilization for video and face-based autofocus. However, the post by Microsoft confirms that high-end Lumia devices like 1520, 1020, 930, 830, 640, and 640XL have some features not supported by the new Camera app.

Meanwhile, PCs running on a pirated version of Windows 7 or Windows 8 will have to pay for upgrading to Windows 10. Here’s what Microsoft wrote on a blog post in regards to oits future tidings, ”Microsoft and our OEM partners know that many consumers are unwitting victims of piracy, and with Windows 10, we would like all our customers to move forward with us together. While our free offer to upgrade to Windows 10 will not apply to Non-Genuine Windows devices, and as we’ve always done, we will continue to offer Windows 10 to customers running devices in a Non-Genuine state.”
