Microsoft Has Announced Lumia 638 smartphone @ Rs 8,299

Microsoft has announced the launch of cheapest 4G smartphone in India, Lumia 638dubbed as Lumia 638 with the price tag of Rs 8,299. The smartphone can be grabbed exclusively via company’s brand store on Amazon.in.

It comes set with 11.43-cm (4.5-inch) ClearBack LCD display with 480 x 854 pixel resolution, along with Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Lumia 638 is powered by a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor, alongside 1GB RAM. It packs 8GB of internal storage memory which can be further expanded up to 128GB via microSD card.

The device runs on Windows 8.1 and also involves the latest Lumia Denim update. It sports 5MP auto focus rear camera but not good enough for selfie lovers, since there is no front facing camera. It has softkey buttons for back, home and search options, which have been added in the new Windows Phone 8.1.

The device is powered by a 1830 mAh battery and on connectivity front it comes with 4G TD-LTE, Bluetooth 4.0, 3G, Wi-Fi, and A-GPS options. The phone also equips ‘SensorCore’ which facilitates low-power motion sensing for fitness apps. The Lumia 638 buyers in Bengaluru using an Airtel post-paid service will be entitled to receive up to 5GB free data on 4G for 2 months after activating their SIM. The offer will remain valid till 31 March 2015.
