With this app, you not only get free courses, but also learning material in a digital format as well as a ‘Riyaaz Recorder’ that helps gauge the progress you have made. Windows 8 users also get unique privileges such as special compositions when you get the Shankar Mahadevan Academy app on your Windows 8 device which offers at least 40 per cent additional features.
So whether you want to pursue music seriously or just learn for fun, this app has options for everyone – from courses in Carnatic and Hindustani classical music to religious chanting and Indian folk music to Bollywood songs. A highly structured curriculum provides a clear path for progression in music learning for everyone from a young student to a working professional with one 45 min online class every week for 12 weeks. Students can choose ‘adult’ or ‘kid’ batches and each batch is limited to three students with an option to upgrade to a single student batch.
