Micromax Unveils Canvas play 4G With 13.97cm IPS Display

Micromax has launched three new affordable handsets Micromax_Canvas-4G Playunder its Canvas series, Micromax Canvas Blaze 4G, Canvas Fire 4G and Canvas Play 4G. While Canvas Blaze and Canvas Fire sport 11.43cm (4.5-inch), Canvas Play 4G features a 13.97cm (5.5-inch) IPS display with better resolution.

If we talk about other specifications, Micromax Canvas Play 4G comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU coupled with 2GB of RAM, 16GB internal memory with expandability via microSD card. It runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop and features a 13MP autofocus rear camera with LED flash besides a 5MP front-facing camera for capturing selfies.

Packed with a 2820mAh battery, its connectivity options include 4G LTE, 3G (HSPA+), Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, Micro-USB 2.0, GPS/ A-GPS and a 3.5mm audio jack, it comes with proximity sensor, accelerometer, ambient light sensor and gyroscope.

Commenting on the new launches, Shubhajit Sen, CMO, Micromax Informatics, said, “With the roll out of the 4G networks across 296 cities and more cities by December this year, we expect this to surge a shift from 3G to 4G as well 2G to 4G in under-penetrated markets. Our 4G smartphone launches are well timed with the 4G technology evolution and roll-out to ensure our consumers use mobile internet for not just entertainment but also for work while at home or on the go. Over the due course of time our entire Canvas range of smartphones will be upgraded to 4G.”
