Micromax unveiles New Range Of Canvas Smart LED TVs Starting @ Rs 19,999

Micromax has expanded its product line-up with the launch of a new range of Canvas Smart LED TVs. The LED MicromaxTVs come in three screen sizes – 30-inch, 40-inch and 50-inch, priced at Rs 19,999, Rs 29,999 and Rs 42,999 respectively. All the models will be available exclusive on Flipkart starting August 14, and pre-bookings for the same have already begun.

The company’s Canvas Smart LED range comes with numerous features such as Miracast, M! Connect and Home-share. They also offer wireless smartphone control and a built-in smart OS that supports Android apps from Google Play Store. Wi-Fi support is also there.

Micromax claimed that it had a 9% market share in the TV segment till March 2016 and aims to end this fiscal with a 12% market share. The company also aims to provide a stimulus to the growing Smart LED TV segment, which contributes up to 8% to the overall LED TV sales in the country.

While the 50-inch TV has a Full HD (1920×1080 pixel) display, the 30-inch and 40-inch models are HD ready. The products also come with a ‘Quick Boot’ feature which, the company claims, helps them boot up 80% faster than competing products.

Apart from existing players, Micromax’s new offerings will likely compete against LeEco’s recently-launched Android TV s, as well as Kodak first TV, due to launch in the country on August 11.

Last week, Chinese tech major LeEco launched three Android Lollipop-based smartTVs with 4K resolution support, starting at Rs 59,790. With this, LeEco has become the latest to join the affordable smartTV market after the likes of Vu and Micromax.

The LeEco Super3 televisions are available in two screen sizes — 55-inch and 65-inch. There are two models with 65-inch screen size — LeTV Super3 65 and LeTV Super3 Max65, priced at Rs 99,790 and Rs 1,49,790 respectively. While both TVs offer similar specifications, the top-end LeTV Super3 Max65 is 3D-capable.
