Micromax Partners With Mediatek To Unveil Canvas Fire 4G

Micromax has joined hands with chipmaker MediaTek to unveil Micromax Canvas Fire 4G, an affordable MediaTek-Micromax_Canvas_Fire_4Gpowered smartphone in India. MediaTek already enjoys an enormous market share in the budget smartphones segment. The collaboration promises to bring more pocket-friendly 4G devices in the country. It does remind us of Meizu MX5, the recently released smartphone powered by a Helio chipset.

Micromax Canvas Fire 4G sports an 11.43cm (4.5-inch) Touchscreen display. Powered by a 1GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6735 processor coupled with 1GB of RAM, the phone comes with 8GB in-built storage with expandability via microSD card. The phone comes with an in-built proximity sensor, accelerometer, ambient light sensor and gyroscope.

The phone runs on Android 5.1. It features a decent 5MP rear camera with flash along with a 2MP front-facing camera for capturing selfies. With Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS connectivity, Micromax Canvas Fire 4G also boasts of dual firing speakers and 4G capabilities. While pricing and availability details are still under the wraps, the phone is expected to see the light of day soon.

Vineet Taneja, CEO, Micromax Informatics announced during the launch, “We have always endeavoured to offer products based on certain needs of the consumer. Moving forward, we will lead the 4G adoption in the country by converting all our popular value Canvas series to 4G. Canvas Fire 4G is the first in a series of such launches.”
