Micromax Announces Three Sub-Rs 55K Smart TVs This Week

Micromax is all set to expand its TV portfolio in the Micromaxcountry with the launch of smart LED TVs range later this week. The all-new range will be the company’s first in smart LED TV space.

TOI has learnt that the range will include TVs in three different screen sizes. Although the exact pricing is not yet known, insiders have tipped the smart LED TV range to cost under Rs 55,000 and come sans 4K resolution display.

Micromax until now had LED TVs with full-HD and 4K resolution displays. With its foray into the smartTV LED segment, the company will compete with the likes of Sony, Intex, LG, Samsung and Panasonic.

Micromax recently entered into a partnership Eros International’s digital platform Eros Now. Under the deal, users of Micromax smartphones get exclusive access to content on Eros Now. Music lovers too can access music videos and songs playlists using the company’s app.

It is possible that Micromax and Eros extend the partnership to TVs too. Micromax offers range of affordable television sets in the Indian market.

The company launched its first 4K resolution TV in India in March last year. The two models — with 42-inch and 49-inch screen sizes — were launched at Rs 39,990 and Rs 49,990 respectively. The company entered into the TV business in 2012.

Talking about TVs, LeEco recently launched three new 4K resolution Super TVs in India. The LeEco Super3 televisions are available in two screen sizes — 55-inch and 65-inch. There are two models with 65-inch screen size — LeTV Super3 65 and LeTV Super3 Max65 — and are priced at Rs 99,790 and Rs 1,49,790. The smaller 55-inch model costs Rs 59,790.
