Mahindra Mpower – A rise inititative for youth entrepreneurs.

The transport industry plays an important role in the development of the Indian economy with the demand for transport infrastructure and services rising by around 10% year on year. However, everyday challenges such as cost versus value focus, asset non-asset based operations, business scope and scale, driver management, information technology and service level and quality management act as barriers in the development of the industry. Adding to these challenges is the ever increasing demand of the customers and price of fuel, toll and manpower.

 To empower the transport  industry Mahindra &  Mahindra Ltd. pioneered a  programme called ‘MPOWER’,  a platform to equip bright  minds with skills to improve  current operations, while  delivering the knowledge to  transform the industry in the long term. Designed in association with the prestigious IIM Ahmedabad, the programme aims at bringing professionalism to the industry through youth transport entrepreneurs. NeoNiche was the chosen campaign partner to design and execute the initiative across 7 cities namely Delhi, Jaipur, Patna, Kolhapur, Nadurbaug, Krishnagiri and Namakal. The agenda comprised of power-packed activities with meaningful interactions, insightful case studies, fierce competition and rebuttals being tossed across the room. This was followed by an entertainment evening enthralled with an exclusive performance by Mallika Sarabhai , a renowned classical dancer who left the crowd mesmerised as she dissolved boundaries between tradition and technology through her performance.

MPOWER turned out to be a great initiative that shed light on the hurdles in the development of the transportation industry and the way forward. Some of the dialogues, interactions and case studies presented by the young participants encouraged keen awareness of best practices in the realm of activity-based costing, effective delegation, driver retention and management as well as effective leveraging of IT and technology. The crowd was engaged and reciprocative with an overwhelming participation.
