Lenovo Vibe smartphones not being phased out

len
NEW DELHI: Last week, there were reports claiming that Lenovo will soon be phasing out its Vibe series of mid-range smartphones in favour of Motorola handsets. Turns out the rumours were false.
In an official statement, Lenovo said: “Vibe remains an important brand in the Lenovo mobile family and we plan to continue to expand and grow the franchise in select markets around the world.”
The phrase “select markets” suggests that Lenovo may indeed discontinue Vibe smartphones in some countries while retaining it in others.
In India, Lenovo is expected to maintain the status quo, with both Vibe and Moto brands co-existing.
The company recently launched its Vibe P1 and Vibe S1 smartphones in India at Rs 15,999, which fall in the price bracket of Moto G (Gen 3) and Moto X Play.
