Lenovo to launch 4G LTE phone below Rs. 10,000 in India: Reports

Lenovo is reportedly planning to soon launch a 4G LTE smartphone under Rs. 10,000 in India in a bid to compete with the likes of Xiaomi and others who plan to launch low-cost LTE phones in the country. According to reports, Lenovo will be showcasing its low-cost 4G phone at the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show 2015 (CES) in Las Vegas. Reports further suggest Lenovo’s new smartphone will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 chip. Currently, Lenovo is offering Vibe X2 with 4G LTE support in India. However, the Vibe X2 is priced at Rs. 19,999, and competes in the mid-range band.

4G LTE is expected to go big in 2015 with more smartphone brands offering low-cost 4G phones in the country. It’s notable Xiaomi has already launched its Redmi Note with 4G at Rs. 9,999. Brands such as Xolo and Gionee have also launched LTE smartphones in India.

Competition is set to heat up further as brands such as Motorola, LG, Huawei and Karbonn have confirmed plans to launch 4G LTE phones in India.
