Lenovo has launched three new laptops under its ThinkPad line-up at the ongoing Solidworks World 2017 conference in Los Angeles, US. These include the P71, P51 and P51s, with prices starting at $1,849, $1,399 and $1,049 respectively. While the P71 and P51 will hit be available in the US starting April, the P51s will be available in March. However, there’s no word about the laptops’ availability in India yet. In terms of hardware specifications, the Lenovo ThinkPad P71 features a 17-inch IPS display with 1920×10280 or in 3840×2160 pixel resolution. It is powered by Intel’s latest ‘Kaby Lake’ series Core CPU and Nvidia Quadro P5000M GPU, in addition to up to 64GB of DDR4 RAM.
The laptop also includes up to 2TB of SSD storage and is backed by a 96Wh battery. For connectivity, the laptop includes SD card, USB 3.0, HDMI 1.4, Thunderbolt 3 and 3.5mm audio jack.
As for the Lenovo ThinkPad P51, it has a smaller 15.6-inch IPS display with either 1920×1080 or 3840×2160 pixel resolution. The laptop is powered by Intel’s ‘Kaby Lake’ Core chipset but with a different GPU – Nvidia Quadro M2200M. There’s also up to 2TB of SSD storage, in addition to a 90Wh battery. All connectivity options are the same.
Lastly, the ThinkPad P51S is a Windows 10-based laptop that comes with a 15.6-inch IPS screen and same two resolution options as the P51. It’s also powered by Intel’s ‘Kaby Lake’ CPUs and supports up to 32GB of DDR4 RAM, in addition to having Nvidia’s Quadro M520M GPU. The P51S, as per Lenovo, comes with two batteries, one each at the front and the back. In case the primary battery runs out of charge or stops working, users can swap it with the secondary battery.
The back battery comes in three options – 24Wh, 48Wh and 72Wh. On the other hand, the front battery is a 32Wh unit.
