LeEco Le Max 3 may launch on April 11, Bixby-like digital assistant teased

LeEco may be facing cash crunch but it seems that it doesn’t plan to stop working on new products anytime soon. The Chinese tech company has sent out invites for an event, where it will likely launch its new flagship smartphone – Le Max 3. Scheduled for April 11, the launch event will take place in China.

The invite doesn’t show the smartphone itself, but does hint at one of its features. The image mentions ‘AI’ in the caption, along with a humanoid robot’s face. This could mean that LeEco is planning on introducing its own AI-assistant with the Le Max 3.

The AI is expected to be able to perform simple actions such as making calls, scheduling appointments and more. It might work with third-party apps as well. As is the case with Samsung’s Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+, the Le Max 3 might come with two AIs, the second being Google Assistant. If rumours are to be believed, LeEco Le Max 3 will sport dual rear cameras. It’s expected to be powered by a MediaTek Helio X27 chipset. The company supposedly posted a teaser video as well, showing glimpses of the smartphone with the AI in action.
In related news, LeEco launched its new ‘Super4’ TV series in India last month. The new range includes three TVs – Super4 X40, Super4 X43 Pro and Super4 X50 Pro.
The TVs come with (up to) 4K display resolution and boast features such as wide colour gamut, high-end processors (for handling graphics-intensive applications), audio powered by Harman-Kardon and Dolby Audio, as well as sleek designs. As for the prices, the Super4 X40 costs Rs 46,990, while the Super4 X43 Pro and the Super4 X50 cost Rs 63,990 and Rs 86,990 respectively.
