Lava Iris 450 Colour with swappable back panels listed on company’s site

Lava has introduced the Iris 450 Colour, its new mid-range smartphone. The domestic handset maker is touting the Iris 450 Colour’s swappable back panels.

The Iris 450 Colour has been listed on the company’s official site without pricing or details about the availability of the smartphone. The site notes that the swappable back panels are included in the phone’s box.

The Iris 450 Colour runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean out-of-the-box and supports dual-SIM (GSM+GSM) functionality with dual standby support. The Iris 450 Colour is powered by a 1.3GHz dual-core processor coupled with 512MB of RAM. It features a 4.5-inch IPS display with a FWVGA (480×854 pixels) resolution.

The smartphone sports a 5-megapixel rear fixed-focus camera with LED flash, while it also houses a 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera. The Iris 450 Colour includes 4GB of inbuilt storage that is further expandable up to 32GB via microSD card. It packs an 1800mAh battery which the official listing claims can deliver up to 9 hours of talk time on 2G network and up to 8 hours of talk time on 3G network.

Apart from 3G network support, connectivity options on the Iris 450 Colour include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS/ A-GPS and GPRS. It comes with dimensions 136×63.5×10.5mm and weighs 136 grams.

Earlier on Monday, Lava expanded its Iris Pro series by launching the Iris Pro 20 smartphone at Rs. 13,999. Notably, the Iris Pro 20 joins the Iris Pro 30, which was launched in January.

The Lava Iris Pro 20, much like the Iris Pro 30, is a dual-SIM (GSM+GSM) device and supports one regular SIM size, alongside one Micro-SIM. It runs dated Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, with no word on a software update.
