Konica Minolta will be showcasing theJETvarnish 3D UV spot coater and iFOIL inline digital foiling module at Hall 5 Stall C-16. MGI’s JETvarnish 3D inkjet spot UV coater offers users the versatility for two powerful and highly sought after digital finishing capabilities: traditional flat spot UV coating and new 3D digital effects.

The award-winning JETvarnish 3D takes digital spot UV coating to a new dimension, featuring increased throughput for flat spot UV jobs and elegant 3D raised effects. Paired with the iFOIL, a digital hot foil module, the duo can create variable data hot foil embossed effects- producing a luxurious, tactile finish.

Utilizing MGI’s patented inkjet engine technology, the JETvarnish 3D can accommodate sheets from 8×11.8-inch up to 20×42-inch and substrate thicknesses from 135 to 600 gsm. The 100 percent digital JETvarnish 3D uses no plates or screens and has virtually no make-ready, ideally suited for runs from one to thousands, with full variable data capabilities. The integrated ozone-free UV lamp instantly dries sheets for immediate handling or additional finishing, making the JETvarnish 3D an environmentally friendly solution that also features solvent-free coatings and a closed-circuit system that eliminates waste.

With speeds of up to 3,000 sheets per hour on 20x29inch sheets for flat spot UV coating, the JETvarnish 3D is three times faster than the earlier version, complementing both offset and digital presses and allowing commercial printers to increase their productivity while boosting their margins and differentiating themselves from their peers.

In 3D mode, the JETvarnish 3D can apply digital effects up to 100 microns in thickness, producing visually stunning, tactile effects. It can also coat directly onto digital prints (dry or liquid toner) with no lamination required and the ARC camera system ensures precise registration to printed sheets. The JETvarnish 3D’s variable data feature allows for full personalization capabilities resulting in maximum marketing impact.
