Klemchuk Kubasta LLP Launches New Law Firm Billing Software

logo3Klemchuk Kubasta LLP (KK LLP), a leading intellectual property (IP) law firm, recently launched Phase 2 of its proprietary law firm management software.

KK LLP developed its own custom software to improve service to its clients. “Our system allows us to enhance our competitive edge within the industry and continue to innovate our business model,” said Darin Klemchuk, the firm’s Co-Founder and Managing Partner. “Creating this software allows us to reduce administrative time, increases efficiencies, and allows for a variety of billing options to accommodate various client billing requirements.”

Phase One included modules for managing client relationships and information; workflow, tasks, and deadlines; contact information and management; and leads and business development. Committed to innovation, the firm has developed comprehensive law practice software in-house because it could not locate a software product capable of providing all the functionality required by a modern law firm.

Phase Two includes all firm billing, invoices, financial reporting, metrics, and dashboards. Chelsea Green, Chief Operating Officer for the firm, has managed the development and implementation of this phase since her arrival in March of 2012. “We quickly discovered that the billing software on the market for Mac-based firms did not meet our needs, or our clients’ needs,” said Green. “We developed a product that could be customized to meet a variety of features: consolidated billing, e-Billing such as LEDES, special reporting and real-time dashboards. Developing and implementing the program has allowed us to dramatically streamline our billing processes. The system provides us with real-time data on the firm’s financial performance. These are things we needed in order to run the business, but that aren’t available with the current ‘off the shelf’ products.

“Chelsea’s dedication to this project truly has enhanced value to our existing clients, and has enabled us to take on several additional clients that have special billing requirements. Through the 18 months of development, Chelsea has worked tirelessly to ensure that this software is not only user friendly, but provides what our clients need: accurate and customized billing, reporting and payment options,” says Klemchuk. “I don’t think we would have been successful with this phase of the software without her. As a technology focused law firm, I think it is important for us to push the envelope on the technology used to provide legal services. That’s one of the ways we demonstrate our commitment to innovation.”
